Abstract: Lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulphonyl)sulfonylimide is an organic substance with the chemical formula of C2F6LiNO4S2, which is a white crystal or powder with high electrochemical stability and conductivity, and no corrosion effect on the aluminium collector under higher voltage, and it is commonly used as lithium salt for lithium-ion batteries and organic electrolytes.
1. As lithium battery organic electrolyte lithium salt
LiN(CF3SO2)2 as a lithium electrolyte lithium salt, water should be less than 100ppm, generally around 40ppm, can be used.
Used as lithium salt of organic electrolyte for lithium ion battery, it has high electrochemical stability and conductivity. And it has no corrosive effect on aluminium collector under higher voltage. EC/DMC is used to formulate l mol/L electrolyte solution. The conductivity is up to 1.0x10-2 S/cm. at -30℃ the conductivity is still above 10-3 S/cm. This is extremely important for military applications.
2. As reaction catalyst
LiN(CF3S02)2: and its compounds in the same series MN(RsSO2)2 (where M is a 1-valent cation, such as H +, U +, Na +, etc.; Rf for CF3, C2F5, C3F7, C4F9 and other perfluoroalkyl), is used for organic catalytic cracking, hydrocracking, catalytic reforming, isomerization, olefin hydration, toluene disproportionation, dehydration of alcohols, as well as the acylation of the reaction, such as the process of Lewis acid catalyst. It is a Lewis acid catalyst for organic catalytic cracking, hydrocracking, catalytic reforming, isomerisation, olefin hydration, toluene disproportionation, alcohol dehydration and acylation.
